This steering control is ideal for people with arthritis.
V-Grip Steering Control #3524
With a foam-grip single pin and foam-covered aluminum wrap providing backhand support, your hand stays securely and comfortably in place. You can easily adjust the single pin to find the steering grip that’s just right for you. There is an easily replaceable foam cover for continued comfort.
Reduced Effort Steering
Reduced Effort Steering modification boxes and steering racks are available for most American vans and most cars with factory power steering. All factory power steering units will be modified to low or no effort. Standard factory power steering requires approximately 40 ounces of effort to operate. Steering modifications can reduce the required effort to 20-24 ounces (low effort) or 6-8 ounces (no effort). (These statistics will vary depending on model of vehicle and tire size)
Backup Steering Systems
Emergency power assisted steering if factory power steering system fails. Test circuits are provided which enable customers to check system prior to driving. Audio and visual alarms alert driver to factory power steering failure–backup system instantaneously activates. Backup system has its own 2 quart fluid reservoir (factory steering comes with about 1 1/2 pints). NMEDA/QAP Guidelines require Backup Steering Systems for all Reduced Effort steering modifications.
Horizontal Steering Systems
The horizontal steering system is customized to meet the needs of those with high-level spinal cord injuries and all others who experience limited arm strength and range of motion. It is usually used in conjunction with AEVIT-L Series hand controls.
- Eliminates the arm-lifting motion normally needed to steer.
- Fully adjustable in all planes.
- Telescopes for maximum driver adjustment and comfort.
- Can be installed on any tilt or non-tilt steering column.
- Does not interfere with the O.E.M. collapsible feature built into the steering column of every vehicle.
- Optional interchangeable system allows conventional steering as well.
- Must be used with powered gear selector, electric directional signal, remote ignition, and remote wipers, if equipped
Foot Steering Systems
For those customers without arms or the use of them, the foot steering system is usually combined with sensitized steering and adaptations for other dash controls. Tim’s Trim Inc. understands that most items concerning foot controlled steering need to be customized according to individual needs.

Ask our professional staff for help deciding what would be the best means to steer your vehicle with your feet. In a short time Tim’s Trim Inc. will install your custom foot steering system. We recommend mid- to full-sized American cars and some minivans for this modification.
